The Met Gala 2023 is here. Let’s peruse the style

The Met Gala red carpet 2023 has rolled out, and the super star invitees have debuted their looks.
Red Carpet arrivals include names like Kendall Jenner, Sydney Sweeney, Emily Ratajkowski, Billie Eilish... Etc.
What IS the Met Gala?
For those who are more interested in the red carpet and never actually knew what the whole shebang was, the Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City.
It's kind of like fashion's "night of nights", and it is strictly invitation only.
It's always held on the first Monday of May.
This year's theme..."Karl Lagerfeld : A line of beauty".
So, how did the stars tackle the theme?
Let's find out.
Amanda Seyfriend
We're starting with our fav look, and perhaps one of the only stars on the red carpet to rock a bold lip. Most opted for a smoky or cat eye, while Seyfriend went all out on warm hues through the eyes and a smouldering red lip.
But the main thing we love about this look is THE HAIR.
Get the look:
Using a thinner curling tong, like the GHD Curve Thin Wand, create ringlets.
Then, brush them out with a Tangle Teezer Ultimate Styler, and give it volume with Schwarzkopf Osis+ Volumising Powder.

 Doja Cat
Shock value city. Look, we don't reckon this would've been an easy makeup look to achieve, but you can certainly rock the cat eye with Vani-T Lash Voltage Magnetic Liner.

 Florence Pugh
Bit of an "it" girl on the acting scene at the moment, Pugh rolled up with her head shaved, rocking a smoky fox eye with otherwise nude makeup, giving her head piece the centre stage.

 Emily Ratajkowski
Headbands and head pieces certainly were a common thread for many of the Met Gala guests this year, Emily Ratajkowski was no exception.
With a blunt fringe, rich, warm, long, chocolate locks and a smoky fox eye, Emily's money piece was the headband for sure.
Get the look:
Using a more narrow curling tong like Mermade's Hair Spin Rotating Curling Wand, create ringlets, then brush them out and sprtiz them with NAK Hair's Dry Texture Spray for volume and texture.

Gigi Hadid
Check out this close up by her makeup artist. Frosty, silver eyeshadow and a winged liner look that is to die for.
Gigi has her hair in mermaid waves, pinned back off her face.
Get the look:
Using a Mermade 32mm Pro Waver, take sections of your hair and create waves. Spritz with Alfaparf Milano Style Stories Original Hairspray.

Jenna Ortega
Classic half up half down, a simple cat eye and vanilla girl makeup with nude lips, like, what else do you need, right?
Get the look:
Looks like Jenna's hair has some movement and texture. We reckon running a GHD Original Styler to create some loose curls, then brushing out and pulling back half loosely with a 90's Claw Clip will get you pretty close to this look.

 Lizzo
Well this is rather conservative for the queen of standing out!
Rocking a nude style makeup and a cute curly updo, Lizzo is showing off her "Chanel" side.
Get the look:
Create tight curls with the GHD Thin Wand, then pin it up in a top knot.

Anok Yai
Fashion model Anok Yai stole the show with this incredible gold number.
Rocking a minimalist, nude makeup look, she let the eye mask speak for itself.

 Cara Delevingne
Got a bit of a shaggy, bleached bixie cut going on here with young Cara Delevingne!
The supermodel come actress kept her makeup minimal, letting the bold smoky eye do the talking.

 Kim Kardashian
Wait - wasn't Kim Kardashian like, not invited to the Met Gala 2023?
There was a lot of speculation about whether Kim would be invited to the event this year. Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour had hinted that the entire Kardashian clan wouldn't make the cut due to making it a more "exclusive" event.
This Met Gala appearance by one Kim Kardashian would suggest those were just rumours.
Here she is with a bit of a Pamela Anderson hair style vibe and a smoky eye.

 Kylie Jenner
