How to get Olivia Rodrigo's Met Gala 2022 mermaid hair

Goodness gracious, Olivia Rodrigo really tore up the Met Gala 2022 red carpet.
In a mermaid-esque dress/hair situation, the brunette starlet rocked a sparkly purple gown.
But the crowning glory of this get up, in our humble opinion, was her mermaid hair. Long, brown and flowing, she summed up a growing trend in one fell swoop of the red carpet.
But did you know that Rodrigo's hair is quite an achievable look for your very good self, should you choose to take on the challenge?
So without further ado, we present to you a step-by-step tutorial on how to give yourself Met Gala worthy Mermaid waves.
You'll need a Mermade Hair waver - the Mermade Pro Waver Cutie or Mermade 25mm Mini to best achieve this look.
STEP 1.
Prep your hair! That is, spritz your lil locks with a thermal protector shield like Nak Hair's Thermal Shield Spray. You can do this while you wait for your waver to heat up. Brush that on through your dry hair, then you're ready for step 2.
STEP 2.
Divide your hair into sections to make styling a bit easier, then take pieces of hair and clamp down on it with your waver. We recommend using the waver upside-down to avoid a crease at the top of the head. Hold down for 3-5 seconds, release, then re-clamp the top barrel of the waver on to the last wave bend. Repeat until your whole head is done!
STEP 3.
Run your fingers through the hair gently and tussle.
STEP 4.
Hold is key! Spray your hair with a hair spray to keep everything in place. Our Eco Style Project Firm Hold Hair Spray is very popular, and environmentally friendly.
And bam, your are Olivia Rodrigo on the Met Gala 2022 Red Carpet ready. Off you go to stop traffic!
